I am very fortunate and had a Dad that loved cars.... My Dad grew up poor and never made more than 50K in one year and worked his whole life for the phone company Pacific Bell. All the old cars I have were all my Dad's that he started acquiring in 1950. His first old car was the blue 1916 Model T Touring car and he never sold it and I still have it. My Dad paid $50 for the 1916 Model T. The next car he bought was the Green 1921 Model T Telephone Truck and he paid $1.50 for it and it did look like that was too much money back in 1952. The pride of the fleet is the 1934 Ford Cabriolet. The 1934 has a great story...... My Dad went with his Dad to the Ford Dealer in 1934 when my Dad was 7 years old. My Dad saw a car just like the one we have on the showroom floor and asked his Dad to buy it......His Dad said "No we can not as we have a family and need a family car". My Grandfather bought a brand new 1934 Ford 4 door sedan (Just like the one Bonny and Clyde were killed in) My Dad knew that day he was going to have a 1934 Ford Cabriolet and it was 20 years later and my Dad found this on a used car lot in 1954 and paid $500 for it :-) It did not look like much, but it was his dream and did become the car he wanted. I actually was lucky enough to take the 34 to my high school prom! These were all purchased before my Dad even met my Mom! The 1965 Lincoln was my Mom's daily driver that they bought in 1969 and I do not know what they paid for that car. The car did sit without turning a wheel from the mid 70's to the mid 90's. My Dad almost sold the car and I got it running again and after driving it again he decided to restore it. The Police wagon was given to my Dad when his friend passed away that he had helped with his car collection. The Cars are members of my family that my Dad left me when he passed away in 2004. My Dad is a hard act to follow as he was involved in several car clubs and always helped others with there cars even when his needed much attention. He was loved by many and I am very blessed to have been his son. I grew up with all these cars and I am having a great time sharing them with my two boys. These cars are all Street legal and all drivers that I try to get out as time allows.
